Pearson TQ Collaboration With Pearson College For BBC Learners

Pearson College deliver the prestigious Degree Apprenticeship on behalf of the BBC.

The Degree Apprenticeship is made up of a BA (Hons) in Business Management and a Management & Leadership Apprenticeship at Level 5. The programme lasts two years and during this time the Apprentice completes several high profile roles within the BBC. This is a highly sought after programme and there were well over 1000 applications for the next cohort for just seven roles.

In August 2015 a collaboration was formed between Pearson TQ and Pearson College in order to support their BBC Apprentices with the assessment and verification of the NVQ element of the Apprenticeship, as well as to deliver TAQA Assessor qualifications to members of Pearson College staff.

The collaboration has been a huge success and working with such a prestige company as the BBC has also provided a brilliant insight into how Apprenticeships can work at their best. Of the eleven learners that started in September 2014, three have already secured full time permanent positions within the BBC as a result of this programme. At a recent Awarding Body visit the Standards Verifier commented that it was “the best Centre he had ever dealt with” in terms of support for the learner and the teaching, learning and assessment.
