Our partnership with WorldSkills UK 

Pearson is proud to continue its partnership with WorldSkills UK, as the UK confirms its place at the 48th WorldSkills Competition, set to take the global stage in Shanghai, China, in September 2026.

This renewed collaboration will power the UK's exciting debut in the Logistics & Freight Forwarding and Software Testing categories, while also marking a return to high-profile competitions such as Cloud Computing, Bricklaying, and Graphic Design Technology.

These new and returning skills reflect the growing demand from employers across these fast-evolving sectors, highlighting the crucial role WorldSkills UK plays in championing the future skills that drive innovation, investment, and business growth.

What is the WorldSkills Competition?

WorldSkills is the largest international skills competition held every two years in cities across the globe.

The competition hosts 1,500 young people from over 65 countries competing in 62 different technical skill disciplines, ranging from engineering and technology to creatives and hospitality.

31 of the finest vocational students from across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland were selected for Team UK 2024.

Meet Squad UK 2025

Over 80 young individuals will embark on an 18-month intensive training program, aiming to be selected for the team that will proudly represent the UK at WorldSkills Shanghai from September 22nd to 27th, 2026.
