Level 2 or Key Stage 4 qualifications, designed specifically for 14-16 year olds in schools to study alongside GCSEs.

The BTEC Tech Award in Sport offers a great balance of assessment methods, from written coursework to video-based practical tasks, allowing students to showcase their understanding in different ways. Employers value BTECs because they produce job-ready candidates with practical experience and transferable skills. BTEC learners are trained to apply theory to real business scenarios, work to deadlines, collaborate in teams, and communicate professionally.
With recent changes to GCSE courses, we needed to find an alternative course that allows our students to still be assessed practically, whilst reducing the emphasis on examinations. This vocational course creates a good classroom climate where coursework allows students to apply their knowledge, whilst still teaching examination topics that are important for our subject.
