Searching for the young World Changers of today
Are your children striving to make the world a better place? We want to celebrate them!
Never has it been more important to be aware of the world around us, to understand what is happening in communities, both near and far, and to recognise the power that every one of our actions can have.
While the COVID-19 pandemic has turned life upside down for so many of us, it has also highlighted the amazing ways that children and young people have looked beyond themselves to support their friends, families and communities - from care packages for neighbours, thank you cards to key workers or even songs encouraging others to stay home.
At Pearson, we want to spread some much-needed positivity and celebrate these remarkable children and young people (and the parents, carers and teachers who support them) in our World Changer Awards.
We want to shine a light on the passion, resilience and altruism being pioneered by 5-19 year olds in homes, schools and communities across Britain. Whether it’s an act of kindness over lockdown, a group project or club to protect the environment, or a young person speaking up on the issues that matter to them, we’d love to know about it!
As part of the awards, we plan to shine a light on the world of experiences and opportunities that can be unlocked through subjects across the wider curriculum, from business studies and languages to the humanities and the creatives. We are delighted to be working with world changing environmentalists, explorers, creatives, activists and entrepreneurs who are helping to empower children to make a difference in the world by sharing their remarkable journeys and advice.
Our Award ambassadors include the likes of Ann Daniels, one of the first women in history to reach the North and South Poles as part of all women teams, renowned photographer and filmmaker Nick Danziger, who has spent much of his career photographing the world’s most dispossessed and disadvantaged, and Nike Folayan, who set up the pioneering AFBE-UK to empower more diversity in engineering.
At their heart, the awards are about inspiring children and young people to interrogate the world around them, engage with local and global affairs and harness the power of education to drive real and lasting change.
So, what are you waiting for? Do you know a 5-19 year-old who is making an impact on the world - no matter how big or small? Have they made their positive mark on their community already? And could they be awarded the coveted ‘World Changer’ titles and prizes for their dedication and achievements?
Get involved today. Together, let’s inspire and celebrate the global citizens of tomorrow.
