A reminder that Apprentices must successfully complete a first aid qualification in line with the requirements of the EYFS Framework (Annex A):

A reminder that as of the 1 April 2022, there are no extensions allowed to the EPA period.

Please ensure that apprentices who have a status of 'Approved for EPA' are booked in for their assessment within the designated end-point assessment period. Further information on specific assessment periods, please review the Apprenticeship Standard Assessment Plan.

Pauses are allowed post gateway and is used when the EPA plan sets out a particular timeframe within methods and/or between components.

This flexibility has been retained post 1 April 2022; however, pauses should be minimised as far as practicable to not disadvantage the employer or apprentice. This should not exceed a period of six months.

Close Protection 

The new Pearson BTEC Level 3 Certificate for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry went live for learner registration on 1 April 2022. All learners wishing to apply for a Close Protection licence must complete this new qualification.

Learner SIA Licence Applications 

Further to our March update, there are still a lot of requests to investigate why learners’ SIA licence applications aren’t progressing.
