Healthcare Support Worker
The revised Healthcare Support Worker Standard (ST0217) has been amended for new starts from November 2022.
From 1 April 2023, a new qualification will be available that all Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprentices will be required to complete.The Specification will include guidance as to how the new qualification’s mandatory units map to the standard.

Sports Coach Assessment Plan changes
We have updated our materials in line with the changes to the assessment plan.

Childcare and Early Years updates
Changes to the early year's educator level 3 criteriaDfE are proposing revisions to the criteria for early years educator (EYE) level 3 qualifications.
NCFE were commissioned to review the EYE level 3 criteria and recommend revisions. DfE are now consulting on the suitability of the revised criteria for qualifications in early education and childcare. This consultation closes at 11:59pm on 23 January, 2023.

Level 3 Diploma in Civil Engineering for Technicians
The qualification has been extended on an interim basis until 31 December, 2025 whilst we review the content with the Institution of Civil Engineers, to ensure alignment to the latest EngTech standards. Updated specifications are expected early 2023 and centres will be advised when to move over to the new version of the specification for new starts.
Qualification Withdrawals and Certification End Dates:
Following review of qualification demand, we are setting end dates for the qualifications linked below and/or bringing forward the existing certification end dates for previously withdrawn qualifications:
BTEC Level 3 Advanced Manufacturing Engineering:
We have completed all the updates to the BTEC Level 3 AME qualification suite and applied these changes to existing approvals and qualifications codes in Edexcel Online.
These changes are summarised in the latest version of the specification, with more information linked below.
BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering - Machining
The Machining pathway has been developed as a separate qualification to AME and is being submitted to Ofqual this month, for a 1 January, 2023 first teaching date. Learn more about these qualifications and changes here:
From this academic year, 2022-2023, we have moved to a model where face-to-face visit(s) will be required for the Security sector under the outlined roles here: Update to Security Quality Assurance
Please be aware that there is potential for unannounced Security SV visits to take place throughout the academic year.
This is in line with the high-risk nature of the sector and the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA).
Additionally, the Security Centre Handbook is currently being updated and will reflect the above changes.
