Updated BTEC Security Centre Handbook 2022-2023

A reminder that the updated BTEC Security Centre Handbook 2022-2023 is now available on the website.

New Virtual or Blended Learning Delivery Notification Form 

Please note that the SIA has provided an updated form that must be used to notify them of all virtual or blended learning delivery taking place from this month. 

The form will be available to download from the Course Materials tab on each of the Security qualification pages of our website soon. 

Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship

Due to the dispensation applied to the Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship Standard (Level 3), the on-programme qualification for apprentices will have requirements that differ from non-apprenticeship learners.

We have since received communication that after a detailed review internally at IfATE with input from trailblazers and employers, a decision has been made to continue with the planned removal of the dispensations on 31 December 2022. 

For apprentices entering gateway post 1 January 2023, they will be assessed using the existing assessment plan of face-to-face observations. More information here:
