Pearson secures two new T Level contracts in Health and Science
Pearson has been awarded two new contracts to deliver T Levels in Health and Science, strengthening their position as the largest provider of these technical qualifications in the UK.
The contracts were secured through a competitive bidding process run by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE).
These new qualifications will help address critical workforce shortages in healthcare and science, combining classroom learning with industry placements to give students real-world experience and prepare them for meaningful careers.
Freya Thomas Monk, Managing Director of Pearson Qualifications, said:
"We are delighted to bring our expertise in delivering rigorous and high-quality qualifications to these important contracts. Building a strong flow of talent into the health and science sectors is vital to the Government’s mission of supporting an NHS that is fit for the future. As the largest T Level provider, we are committed to providing qualifications that enable students to progress and thrive in these sectors."
The demand for health and science skills remains high, with NHS England reporting over 100,000 vacancies. In 2024 alone, more than 50,000 students completed Level 3 BTECs in Applied Science and Health and Social Care - supporting the development of a skilled workforce for these essential industries.
