About this programme

The Associate Project Manager apprenticeship develops the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to support the successful delivery of projects across a wide range of sectors. Learners gain a strong understanding of project management principles, stakeholder collaboration, governance and organisational objectives, preparing them to play a key role in delivering change, innovation and business improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

In this role, apprentices support project teams by coordinating activities, engaging stakeholders, managing project information and maintaining effective communication. They help identify risks and issues, track progress against agreed milestones, monitor quality and compliance requirements and contribute to informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle to support successful outcomes.

Professional recognition

Successful apprentices will be eligible to join the Association for Project Management (APM) as an Associate Member.

Progression

This apprenticeship supports progression into more senior project, programme or change management roles and provides a strong foundation for advanced project management qualifications.

Chartered Management Institute (CMI)

Assessment components

  • Written project report with presentation and questioning 

  • Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence

Programme content

I'm really enjoying my apprenticeship, meeting other colleagues that are on the programme in our classroom sessions and having that independent time to go away, do our own coursework and then meet again.
