About this programme

This apprenticeship supports current and aspiring NHS leaders to build the skills they need to manage people, teams and projects with confidence. As a team leader, you’ll work across departments and collaborate with clinical colleagues, HR, finance and other internal and external partners to deliver safe, efficient and high‑quality patient care.

NHS Leadership Academy

The prestigious Edward Jenner Leadership Programme from the NHS Leadership Academy is embedded within this apprenticeship, giving learners access to nationally recognised leadership development as part of their training.

Key responsibilities

Supporting, managing and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems, building relationships internally and externally.​

Successful apprentices achieve:

  • Level 3 Team Leader Apprenticeship Standard​
  • Edward Jenner Award in Healthcare Leadership Foundations
  • CMI Level 3 qualification in First Line Management and Leadership​
  • CMI Foundation Chartered Manager (fCMgr).​

Level 5 Operations Manager apprenticeship.
