Power Maths has been recommended by the DfE

Pearson submitted Power Maths KS1 to The Department for Education expert panel earlier this year. The great news is that the resources have been judged as fully delivering a mastery approach and placed on their list of recommended textbooks.

The Power Maths KS1 Textbooks, Practice Books and Teacher Guides passed all stages of the panel assessment. This means the resources are judged to:

  • Meet all the criteria for high quality textbooks to support a mastery approach
  • Deliver the National Curriculum for KS1 Mathematics
  • Develop and deepen children’s understanding
  • Incorporate formative and summative assessments
  • Help teachers to develop their own subject knowledge

What about Key Stage 2?

The Key Stage 2 textbooks will be publishing from Summer 2018, and we will be submitting them for approval at the next available opportunity, so watch this space.

What does this mean for me and my school?

As part of the Teaching for Mastery programme, the DfE are providing up to £2000 match funding per school for selected schools to invest in high-quality printed mastery resources. The list of approved resources has been released by the DfE for schools to choose from. To find out more about how schools can become eligible for match funding, visit www.ncetm.org.uk
