Who is striving to change the face of society, positively impact the environment, or make their mark on their community? Pearson wants to find out...
The Pearson World Changer Awards, which will open later this year, celebrate the children and young people who are taking their learning to the next level to make a positive and tangible impact on the world beyond the classroom.
It has never been more important to be aware of the world around us, to understand what is happening in our communities - in countries both near and far - and to recognise the impact that every one of our actions can make.
From care packages for vulnerable members of the community to initiatives that are forging friendships in the face of isolation, the COVID-19 pandemic is highlighting the amazing ways that children and young people are making a positive difference in the world.
At Pearson, we want to celebrate these remarkable children and young people and shine a light on the passion, resilience and altruism being pioneered by 5-19 year-olds in schools, homes and communities across Britain.
At their heart, the World Changer Awards are about inspiring children and young people to interrogate the world around them, engage with local and global affairs and harness the power of education to drive change.
How to get involved
As we prepare to open the awards, we want to start highlighting the incredible acts of kindness and citizenship that are being witnessed at this time and help inspire others to think about how they too can make a difference in their community and beyond.
Here are just some of the ways you can get involved today:
- Download our free World Changer activity kit, for children aged 5-11 and young people aged 11-19 with resources and tasks for children and young people to complete at home and kick start their World Changer journeys!
- Share how your children and young people are trying to make the world a better place and inspire others to do the same by tagging @PearsonSchools on Twitter and Facebook with the hashtag #WorldChangers or emailing email@example.com.
