Welcome back. Our next question says which enzyme is responsible for the replication of D. N. A. And we have four choices of different enzymes. So let's look through them. Choice A is D. N. A. Hell a case. Well hell a case is responsible for unwinds the helix double strand prior to that replication. So the D. N. A. Has to be unwound separated into its single strands and Healy case does the unwinding. But that's not the replication part. So Choice A. Is not our answer choice B. Says D. N. A polymerase, we have the word polymer in there. That can be our clue that yes, D. N. A polymerase, the enzyme responsible for building up the new D. N. A strand in the replication of DNA. So, D. N. A polymerase, choice B is correct. But we'll go on and just work through our last choices here choices. He says, DNA like. Well, DNA like um is what joins together the Okazaki fragments in the lagging strand. So as we recall the enzymes, the DNA polymerase can only work in the synthesizing the five prime prime direction. So we have a leading strand that's going in a continuous five prime three prime direction. But on the other strand it can't do that. So it has to synthesize in short little fragments called Okazaki fragments. And then after the synthesis of those fragments, DNA legs comes along and joins together those fragments to make a continuous strand of DNA. So DNA ligas part of this process, but not what's responsible for synthesizing the new D. N. A strand. And finally our last choice D. N. A. Gi race. Well, when you unwind this helix with the healing case, um if you ever pulled apart like two threads um as you pull them apart, the portion behind will sort of tangled together in what's called super coiling. So when you when the D. N. A. Helix gets separated, the same thing happens, the remainder of that double strand can super coil get tangled and put too much attention on the strand and stop the replication. So the guy race comes along to cut and rejoin the D. N. A. To relieve that strain that's caused by the super coiling. So part of the overall process, but not what's responsible for the replication of the DNA strand itself. So eliminate choice D. And again, choice B. D. N.
