And an ion are basically atoms of the same element or any element that gain electrons and became negatively charged through this process. Now that we know this, let's use this definition to solve a problem while starting with answer choice A. We have that they are negatively charged. We already established that an ions are negatively charged through the process of gaining more electrons that they previously had. And so this answer choice correctly describes an an eye on and we can cancel it out as not being or answer. Moving on to answer choice D. We have that they have more electrons than protons. All these atoms, these and ions come from balance atoms that have the same number of protons and electrons however, they gain electrons to become negatively charged through the process of gaining more electrons. They became negatively charged and so they will have more electrons than protons in their electron configuration. And so we can cancel this out as well as being a correct description of an an eye on. Now moving on, we have answer choice B. They're formed by non medals because of their position in the periodic table.
