This involves one sperm fertilizing the egg to form a zygote, while another sperm fertilizes the polar nuclei, leading to the formation of the endosperm. The endosperm serves as a nutritional source for the developing embryo, akin to the yolk in an egg, providing essential sustenance for the growth of the new plant.
