Combined Gas Law

Assume that you have a sample of gas in a cylinder with a movable piston, as shown in the following drawing:

Redraw the apparatus to show what the sample will look like after 
(c) the temperature is decreased from 300 K to 200 K and the pressure is decreased from 3 atm to 2 atm.

Assume that you have a cylinder with a movable piston. What would happen to the gas volume of the cylinder if you were to do the following?
(d) Double the Kelvin temperature and double the pressure

An automobile tire has a maximum rating of 38.0 psi (gauge
pressure). The tire is inflated (while cold) to a volume of 11.8 L
and a gauge pressure of 36.0 psi at a temperature of 12.0 °C. On a
hot day, the tire warms to 65.0 °C, and its volume expands to
12.2 L. Does the pressure in the tire exceed its maximum rating?
(Note: The gauge pressure is the difference between the total pressure and atmospheric pressure. In this case, assume that atmospheric
pressure is 14.7 psi.)

The Combined Gas Law - Explained

This picture represents a sample of gas at a pressure of 1 atm, a
volume of 1 L, and a temperature of 25 °C. Draw a similar
picture showing what would happen to the sample if the volume
were reduced to 0.5 L and the temperature were increased to 250 °C. What would happen to the pressure?

A weather balloon is inflated to a volume of 28.5 L at a pressure
of 748 mmHg and a temperature of 28.0 °C. The balloon rises in
the atmosphere to an altitude of approximately 25,000 ft, where
the pressure is 385 mmHg and the temperature is -15.0 °C. Assuming
the balloon can freely expand, calculate the volume of
the balloon at this altitude.

A 4.30 L gas has a pressure of 7.0 atm when the temperature is 60.0 ºC. What will be the temperature of the gas mixture if the volume and pressure are decreased to 2.45 L and 403.0 kPa respectively?

A quantity of N2 gas originally held at 531.96 kPa pressure
in a 1.00-L container at 26 °C is transferred to a 12.5-L container
at 20 °C. A quantity of O2 gas originally at 531.96 kPa
and 26 °C in a 5.00-L container is transferred to this same
container. What is the total pressure in the new container?
