So before we go ahead and analyze each of these choices, what we can do is just focus on the reaction that carbonic acid goes through when it dissolves in water. So what we would recognize is that carbonic acid is not on our memorized list of strong acids and so therefore it's a weak acid. And we should recall that weak assets will partially ayan eyes and looking at our formula here for carbonic acid. We have to ionized protons because we have to H. S. On our or in our molecule. So what that means is that when we dissolve in water we're going to form for our first product and we're going to use an equilibrium arrow here. Our first ion which is going to be a church C. 03 minus. We should recognize that this is our bicarbonate ion and then we're going to continue to dissolve so that our bicarbonate is going to continue to react with the water or dissolve in the water rather so that We will lionize our 2nd proton where we just form the ion as a product, C. 03 minus which we recall is our carbonate ion.
