Hello everyone today. We have the following problem identify the ions that remain un reacted after solutions of silver nitrate and sodium chloride are mixed. So first we want to draw what these would look like. So our silver nitrate would be our silver and we will have our nitrate. It would be a quiz of course and then we would have our sodium chloride which is table salt in a cl Aquarius as well. And so this is going to undergo a double displacement reaction where the cat were in the cat ions and the an ion exchange to form new compounds. So our new expression is going to be our silver which is the cat eye on for the first reaction or for the first compound chloride which is the anti on for the second reaction. And so we're going to say that this is actually insoluble and thus it's going to precipitate as a solid. So it is going to essentially remain as is we then have our carry on from our second reaction with our an ion which is a poly atomic ions nitrate and our first reaction and this is actually going to be soluble so it is going to remain in the solution. So it's going to remain in the solution and its ions are going to be our sodium plus Aquarius ions and our nitrate Aquarius ions.
