Sub shell we have one orbital for P. We have three orbital's for D. We have a total of five orbital's. And then for S sub shell we have seven total orbital's. So we only need five here. We can go ahead and do some simple math. So just put a S orbital here, that's one. Then we go ahead at the P. Three. So that's adding now three. So we total of four. Now we just need one more. So we'll move on to the D. Sub shell here. We just have D. Just one D. So that's just one. So one plus three and two. That's a total of five. And that meets the requirements for these five electron clouds. So The hybridization of an atom that contains five electron clouds is going to be equal to S. p. three d. And this is going to be my final answer for this problem.
