Hello. Everyone in this video we're trying to do is find out if N. O. Expected to be dying magnetic or para magnetic. How we can determine this by drawing out the molecular orbital diagram just M. O. Then over to the right and left. We're dealing with our atoms so we'll put nitrogen and oxygen. Alright so again we're dealing with S. And P orbital's the first we'll go ahead and deal with the S. So you have to s on the right and two S on the left and then of course these have to be in the same energy level. So I'll try to even out this. Alright then we'll deal with our anti bonding. So sigma star and bonding which is sigma. Just sigma. No start and that's going to be our bonding. And of course we have interactions going on with our molecular orbital and atomic orbital's so represent that with a dotted line like So now we're done with the s orbital interactions. Let's go ahead and focus on P. So we'll have three lines here that represents two P. Same thing for the right side 12 and three then we'll have our anti R r bonding here at the bottom. But anti bonding on top. Starting from the top, we have sigma. Start then Pie start moving downwards. We have pi and sigma. And again we're dealing with these interactions. Like so so represented with a dotted line. Alright so starting off with filling the valence electrons. Starting off with our nitrogen nitrogen is a group five A. So each atom gives us five valence electrons. So we'll have 12345. Now over to the right for auction we have that being in group 68. So that means that we have six valence electrons per atom. Let's go ahead and fill that in. Then we have 12345 and six. Now for the middle here we have our molecule. So we have five electrons from our nitrogen, six electrons from an auction. Five plus six is 11. So let's go ahead and fill that in. We have 123456789, 10 and 11. So let's go ahead and recall what diabetic and paramedic means. So if we have para magnetic that means we have a new paired electrons and then here for dia magnetic that means we have all paired electrons and nobody is left behind.
